The Leica DISTO D5 is particularly suitable for distance measurements in outdoor areas. Due to the digital Pointfinder, aiming is no problem even in sunshine and at very long distances. Both the target and the measurement results can be seen very clearly on the large display with IPS technology. For maximum accuracy, the measurement can be triggered by gestures, which is a distinct advantage, especially over long distances. High flexibility is offered by various functions, such as Smart Horizontal Mode, height tracking, profile or angle measurements. This means that any measurement situation on the construction site can be solved quickly and efficiently. The data can then be transferred to the DISTO Plan app or individual templates, e.g. in Excel, and processed further to support an efficient and error-free digital workflow.

Product Features:
Interior and Exterior Use
Indoors or generally in favourable lighting conditions, the red laser dot is very clearly visible so that the object can be easily targeted. In bright outdoor areas, however, or even in bright sunlight, the laser dot is no longer visible. The laser measure can still measure without any problems. To aim, however, you now need the Pointfinder – a camera that shows you the target exactly in the crosshairs on the crystal-clear display with IPS technology.
Precision without Compromise
The contactless triggering of measurements ensures precision without compromise and solves a well-known problem, namely that the laser measure may move slightly when the measurement button is pressed, therefore no longer hitting the centre of the measured target. For contactless measurement, simply move your hand briefly through the laser beam to trigger the measurement.
Directly Transfer Measured Results Digitally
With the keyboard mode, measured results can be transferred via Bluetooth directly e.g. into a predefined Excel spreadsheet. The DISTO sends the measured results to the currently selected cell. The keyboard mode can also be used for other tasks such as documenting a height profile or filling out a form for the window installer, including online web forms.
Precisely Determine Horizontal Distances
In the "Smart Horizontal Mode" the DISTO simultaneously measures the distance to the object and the tilt of the laser measure with only one click and then automatically calculates the precise horizontal distance. This function is very useful for precise horizontal measurements, especially over long distances, as the DISTO does not need to be aligned horizontally. If construction material, walls, hedges or people are between the laser measure and the target, this function can be used as well. Simply measure over the obstacle and the exact horizontal distance appears on the display.
Inexpensive Height Profile Measurement
With the DISTO it is very easy to create a height profile in a landscape or calculate height differences in a building. The device is setup along the profile line you determine, and a reference point is measured to which the height differences should compare. The individual points are then measured. For each measured point, both the height difference and the distance to the reference point are recorded. The height profile can then be drawn from these values in your preferred CAD software.
Perfectly Documented
With just a few clicks the measurement result can be sent via Bluetooth from the DISTO to the DISTO Plan app, for creating and measuring floor plans and sketches. The sketches can then be exported as a PDF file or as a file suitable for CAD.
